The English National Curriculum
In the primary school students are taught English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Science, and PSHE by their class teacher. Art, Computing, Mandarin starting from Year 2 onwards. Music, Myanmar and PE are all taught by specialist teachers. Secondary students in Key Stage 3 take all of these subjects and Drama.
MISY international teachers and assistant teachers are well qualified professionals and receive regular in house training and professional development. Our teachers are enthusiastic, they love what they do, which means our students love to learn.
MISY uses a wide range of resources to enrich our curriculum, including web based, multimedia or teacher created materials in addition to modern textbooks.
Primary School, Nursery to Year 6 (Foundation Stage, Key stage 1 and 2)
The primary school provides a high quality education in a happy, safe environment; taking children on their first steps towards developing the skills of lifelong learning. Students follow an adapted English National Curriculum and teachers promote active, creative learning in a friendly atmosphere.
Secondary School, Year 7 to Year 9 (Key Stage 3)
In the secondary school Key Stage 3, Years 7 – 9, students develop the academic foundations needed for success in the IGCSE and A level courses undertaken during Years 10 – 13. Students undertake a rigorous, balanced English style curriculum taught by professional supportive international teachers.
