KEY STAGE 4
Key stage 4 is a two year course, leading to the examinations of IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) which are taken at the end of year 11. MISY is an approved centre for Cambridge exams.
Students are consulted about their choice of subjects in advance of the formal selection. Late in year 9, we advise the students about the choices open to them; after consultation with parents, we approve a final choice.
Most students will study seven subjects:
Mathematics, English and Science (either Biology+Physics+Chemistry or Coordinated Science –the equal of two IGCSE passes) are compulsory.
Those who do BIO+PHY+CHEM can choose two more subjects.
Those who do Coordinated Science can choose three more subjects.
The choice of subjects for 2015-17 are as follows:
IGCSE Art & Design
IGCSE Business Studies
IGCSE Mandarin Chinese
IGCSE Computer Science
IGCSE English as a Second Language
IGCSE Additional Mathematics
IGCSE Combined Science
IGCSE Travel and Tourism
