The World Scholar's Cup, WSC, is an annual event gathering of scholars from all over the world. It is a celebration of learning, rather than a mere competition. MISY has been participating for two years now. Since last year, MISY has been one of the top performing schools in the Yangon Regional Round, in the Global Rounds and also in the Yale Tournament of Champions.
This year, MISY had once again proven its unbeatable prowess in the WSC Yangon arena. Thus, we proudly congratulate our World Scholar’s Team for their outstanding performance in the most recent WSC Yangon Round. Our MISY Team as a whole, had great success and fun at the same time.
Our senior team, composed of Yoon Pyae Mon, Nicole Agnes Lee and Cherryl Frances Lee, ranked FIRST overall and were also the champion team for debate. The champion debater was Yoon Pyae Mon and the champion scholar over all was Ncole Agnes Lee. The two other senior teams earned prestigious awards that landed them in the top 10, as well. Our junior teams won various awards, including FIRST place in team writing and other top places in debate and in the challenges. These all landed them in the top 10. Our Y7 juniors, who finalized their team only two days before the competition, were not left behind. Each of them earned an award on their own.
In total, our MISY Teams received 10 trophies and 150 medals – 42 gold and 102 silver medals. And with these, they are all advancing to the global round.
The parents’ and teachers’ support to this endeavor is greatly appreciated, and we, as a community, share the pride in celebrating their success.
